Police attention in recent years has turned to the offence of drug driving. There is now a procedure where any person suspected of driving under the influence of drugs can be tested using a forehead ’wipe’ that can determine whether that person is sent on their way or arrested and taken to the police station for blood tests.
Prosecutions for drug driving are on the increase and can have the same consequences for you as being convicted of drink driving in that a court must in almost all circumstances impose a disqualification from driving for a minimum of 12 moths with most disqualifications being for in the region of 18 months.
